MRS. JOANAH IDOWU AKEREDOLU

Mrs. JoanahIdowuAkeredoluwas born on Wednesday 5th February 1936 into the Olawoye family of Sasere in Owo, Ondo state.

She started her primary school education at Owo Methodist Church Primary school from 1943-1951. She became a pupil teacher at the same school in 1952.

She attended Owo local Government Teacher Training College in 1953 to 1954 and got grade 3 certificate. She taught at Ijebu-Owo local Government School in 1955. 1956, she taught at Ido-ani local Government school. She then taught at Owo local Government Modern School in 1957.

She returned to St. Mary’s Teacher Training College Owo in 1958 and 1959 to get her Grade 2 certificate.

She got married on the 25th December, 1960 in Oke-owo Methodist church to Jeremiah OladeleKehindeAkeredolu who later died on the 30th November, 1987.

She later joined her husband in the United Kingdom where she attended The Pitman’s college, London West where she got a Diploma in Secretarial Studies. She later returned to Nigeria and worked at the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) till she retired from service in June 1985.

By the grace of God, She is the Proprietress of Sapphire Stones Schools. She is a faithful, dedicated, fervent and prayerful Christian, attributes her children appreciate so much in her. Mrs. J.I. Akeredolu is an elder of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) Alimosho.
